Hofmeyr
Hofmeyr is in the Karoo, just below the Bamboes Mountain Range. The Karoo - has the largest variety of succulents found anywhere on earth.
The wide, stark, open spaces provides a unique beauty in the vast plains, distant blue mountains and awe-inspiring sunsets.
Hofmeyr was named
after Jan Hendrik Hofmeyr, the man who campaigned for the recognition of Afrikaans in the late 1800s.
Hofmeyr is about half-way between Bloemfontein and Port Elizabeth and is on the Freedom Trail, a mountain biking route between Cape Town and Durban.
