Maitlands

Famous for its giant sand dunes and unspoiled sea shores, Maitlands, or Maitland River Mouth, is the perfect getaway from Port Elizabeth. About 26km outside of the city, Maitlands is a favourite with outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers. Maitlands Beach, at the Maitland River mouth, attracts many surfers in search of the perfect wave.

Maitland Mines Nature Reserve offers a number of hiking trails through the 127 hectare Reserve and rewards the hiker with some breathtaking views.
