Ever dreamed of an 'Out of Africa' experience but didn't want to leave the luxuries of an en-suite bathroom behind, well here is your chance. Only two hours from Johannesburg you can escape to a luxurious, privately owned bush lodge within Mabalingwe Nature Reserve.
Free from the din of everyday life you will enjoy the sights and smells of the bush and be sent to sleep each night by the chorus of an African bush lullaby. You will find giraffe, warthog, buffalo and many more animals as they drink from a nearby water-hole.
The entertainment area (Lapa) offers sweeping views across the Limpopo bush, a fully equipped kitchen, lounge and dining area. A pathway leaps you through the bush to a fire-pit where you can enjoy fireside suppers under the African stars. While you cool off in the pool you can watch the game pass by on the other side of the ravine.
The lodge sleeps 8 adults and 4 children in 2 double and 2 twin bedrooms, each with it's own private entrance and en-suite. Each double room has an inter-leading door to a twin room so if you are travelling with children they will be close-by, however, the adults can still enjoy some privacy. The twin bedrooms have additional beds that can be rolled out from under the twin beds if the children have brought their friends with.
Finest quality bedding and towels are provided. There is a small Hi-Fi and good cellphone reception.
Follow your early morning coffee at sunrise with a game drive and then a hearty brunch. You can spend the afternoon lazing under a shady tree by the pool or resting in the cool, thatched bedrooms. Once the heat of the day has passed, you can take a late afternoon game drive and then have sundowners on our viewing deck.
End the day with a fireside supper under the African stars - who needs a TV. In fact we won't offer you one. Instead you will enjoy wildlife, nature, peace and quiet. Isn't it time you escaped?
On-site, you can view the Big Five in your own vehicle or on a guided tours. The main camp, Ingwe, has it's own restaurant, shop, ATM, tennis courts and squash courts. Only 20 minutes away you will find the natural mineral hot springs of Bela-Bela.
