Henk Marais is the third generation and current owner of the farm Modderfontein. Modderfontein farm is situated in the Victoria West area, 35 km from Three Sisters on the N1. The guesthouse does have an entrance from the N12 as well. The farm is the highest point between Cape Town and Johannesburg as well as halfway-stop to unwind before you continue your journey. There are six natural springs on the farm, hence the name Desert Dew.
On this beautiful farm there is more than 125 bird species as well as the blue crane. Our interrupted area is a "heaven" for mountainbikers with a 34 km single track with a rating of 9/10 by Cape Epic Cyclists. There is nice running trials and you can take long walks in the "veld" and a communal farm dam is a must in summer! A beautiful little dollhouse will entertain the kids. A Personal Trainer is on hand as well as a qualified Medical Nursing Sister.
The farm offers accommodation to suit all. Total accommodation sleeps 36 people. There are six rooms available and 3 self catering chalets. The two luxury rooms have ensuite bath and shower. Bed linen and towels included. The spacious open plan lounge and restaurant includes a TV room and big fireplace.
Traditional farm cuisine or a Karoo-braai can be enjoyed under flawless starlit skies. Our spacious home is a place of true peace and experience and we invite you to escape the crowds and come and relax with us!
