The Sea Cottage is so named because it is just that - a cottage right on the sea. The beach is a mere flight of steps away! The cottage is set in a big, lush garden which is home to many birds and also a pair of small duikers.
Visitors can relax on the cottage's private wooden deck and look out for dolphins and whales, or walk down the flight of steps onto the private beach to dip one's toes into the sea, or to take a leisurely stroll along the beach. The cottage's surroundings are quiet and tranquil, and at night the sound of the waves breaking on the shore will lull you to sleep.
You will enjoy -
So if you enjoy an early morning stroll along the beach watching the sunrise and dolphins, or surfing and fishing is your passion, or you just want to enjoy a sundowner with your feet up, then take some time out and come to the splendour of the The Sea Cottage to relax and become completely refreshed.
The Sea Cottage has two bedrooms and two bathrooms (main en suite). A larger than usual bath and separate double shower has earned it the nickname "The Honeymoon Cottage", but as it also has two sleeper couches in the lounge, it can easily cater for a truly memorable family holiday. The main bedroom has a queen size bed, the second bedroom has two single beds and the lounge has two sleeper couches.
The cottage is well fitted, including linen and bath towels. You need only bring your food and drinks. The beaches are all within walking distance, so you can pack the car keys away for the duration of your stay! Enjoy eating your meals outside on the deck or inside in the open plan kitchen.
The following facilities are provided to enhance your stay:
Loadshedding is a daily occurrence - we have 12V battery back up for the lights in the cottage.
The South Coast is also currently fraught with water supply issues. We have installed a freshwater tank with a water pump which can pump fresh water through the cottage in the event of an interruption in water supply from the local council. If there is no power and the water is off, we have a rainwater tank with an outside tap.
We are trying our best under extremely trying conditions.
Marina Beach is one of the best beaches along the coast. It is 180 metres wide and is uninterrupted for a distance of 5 kilometres, perfect for beach walking and picnicking. It has been called the Honolulu of the south coast due to its resemblance to the famous beach of Hawaii, and it has Blue Flag status. The area is renowned for its swimming and surfing conditions and the famous San Lameer and Southbroom golf courses. The wide expanse of beach is perfect for kite flying.
Marina Beach has its own
Just a few metres north of The Sea Cottage you can enjoy Southbroom South Beach, which, although without lifeguards, remains a delight for those that would enjoy a quite beach and 'get away from it all'.
Marina Beach is ideally situated on the Hibiscus Coast ensuring close proximity to all activities offered on the South Coast, which includes:
