Namibs Valley Lodge

Bed & Breakfast Accommodation in Gamsberg Pass

Ideal halfway point between Sossusvlei, Windhoek and Walvis Bay.

Namib's Valley of a Thousand Hills is located in the Namib on a highland with a panoramic view of the Guab Valley. The valley is riddled with thousands of hills creating a photographers heaven. This natural scenery creates a fairytale feel to a place otherwise known for its dry and arid conditions. Until recently the Valley of a Thousand Hills was not accessible to the general public but due to some considerable effort and planning, this wonder is now just a reservation away.

This jewel is one of Namibia’s youngest tourist attractions and it proves to be a must see if visiting Namibia.

The Valley is approximately 180km from Windhoek, 165km from Walvis Bay and a mere 165km from Sesriem.

Namib's Valley is located on elevated ground overlooking the Gaub valley. This creates a unbelievable view over the Namib. The location is a ideal stopover between either Windhoek and Sossuvlei or Walvis Bay and Sossusvlei. A stay here would recharge your batteries and give you a great oppertunity to experience the depth and spaces that the Namib offers.

Activities

Activities range from walking trails, 4x4 trails, and ample of iconic tourist landmarks.

There is plentiful wildlife as most of them can roam free out of the Namib-Naukluft Nature Reserve, abundant birdlife can also be enjoyed. There is also a staircase to heaven in which one can take the pleasure of seeing potholes created over thousands of years of limited rainfall.

Fun Facts

The Gaub valley has very limited underground water and as a result of this, the water has to be pumped 5km at a hight(head) of 250m. The pipeline has four separate solar water pumps working in tandem to get the water to the facilities.

All the energy produced at the lodge and bungalows are from pure alternative sources. The energy production mix consists of photovoltaic modules, wind turbines and vacuum tubes for water heating.
