The Goodland - Milk Cottage

The Goodland - Milk Cottage is ideally situated - close enough for a weekend getaway, far enough to escape from the hustle and bustle of urban life - only 4 hours from Joburg and 2.5 hours from Durban.

Milk Cottage is a spacious dwelling with double volume ceilings. The cottage is perfect for couples and families, young and old. The lavish garden boasts 200 year old trees and abundant bird life. The cottage has a lookout deck a couple of feet from the veranda. The cottage sleeps 4 adults in two queen size beds and a sleeper couch is available for two children under 10 years of age. Each bed has been made up with high thread count cotton linen. Towels are also included. There are two en-suite bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a shower-in-bath. The kitchen is fully equipped and has complimentary starter Nespresso and tea. A braai is available for those festive days (or nights) or alternatively a cozy fireplace for those chilly winter nights. For those who choose to switch off can choose from a large selection of books from the reading corner or play one of the many board games or outdoor games. A selected DSTV bouquet is available which includes Mnet and all SuperSport channels.

• The village of Winterton and surrounding Central Drakensberg offers an abundance of restaurants, coffee shops, art galleries and interesting shops for the browser.
• For those who enjoy more physical activities one is spoiled for choice - white water rafting, mountain biking and 4x4 trails, hiking, fly fishing, golf, horse riding and quad biking - to only name a few.
• There are also a number of interesting historical and rock art sites in the Central Drakensberg vicinity.
• The Champagne Valley in the Central Drakensberg is home to the world renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir School who hold a weekly public concert during term time.
• There is also the raptor rehabilitation centre from where falcons and other raptors are displayed & flown regularly.
• There are a number of easily accessible golf courses one of which is a championship course and another the highest in the Drakensberg.
• The area also featured prominently in the Anglo-Boer war so there are a number of Battlefields, cemeteries and monuments close by together with a number of Bushman rock art caves which can be visited accompanied by a guide.
