Rhino Post Safari Lodge is situated on over 12,000 hectares of pristine
bushveld in the only wilderness concession in the Kruger National Park. The
concession shares a 15km unfenced boundary with the famous Mala Mala and Sabi
Sands reserve, with an abundance of wildlife moving freely between the two
reserves.
It has exclusive use of some of the Kruger National Park's public roads for
evening game drives, well after gate closing times (sunset), ensuring guests an
unforgettable experience. Highly qualified guides share their wealth of bush
knowledge with you in an environmentally sensitive area that offers the Big Five
as well as a diversity of fauna and flora.
Rhino Post Safari Lodge
Rhino Post Safari Lodge is a 16-bed lodge, set on the banks of the Mutlumuvi
Riverbed in the Kruger National Park.
The nature of a wilderness area is that there are no permanent structures, so
Rhino Post Safari Lodge was built using natural materials of stone, wood, thatch
and canvas to create an authentic bush ambience.
Stilts raise the 8 spaciously appointed suites from the riverbank allowing
guests to view the Mutlumuvi riverbed with ease from the bedroom, bathroom and
private wooden deck. The suites are set out in an open plan style with wooden
floors, thatched roofs, canvas walls and an overhead fan. Each ensuite bathroom
includes a deep, freestanding bath, 'his and hers' basins, a separate toilet and
an outdoor shower protected by thick reed poles. The bathroom floor is
attractively decorated with delicate mosaic designs complimenting the
contemporary floor. All the suites have mini-bars and telephones linked to all
areas.
Following a game drive, guests can relax in the revitalizing swimming pool, take
in the views from the shaded patio and watch the abundant wildlife amble down to
the waterhole. Sumptuous meals are served in the camp's dining area, which is
set under magnificent Tamboti trees. The lounge, with its extensive wine cellar,
cosy fireplace and bar, is the perfect spot for a sundowner.
In the spirit of wilderness areas worldwide, Rhino Post Safari Lodge has been
specially designed and built to have minimal impact on the environment. Low
energy lighting, natural materials, raised walkways and bedrooms are but some of
the low impact measures we have taken.
