The Container House

The container house is constructed from 6 shipping containers and then cladded with decorative cement panels.

When you rent the container house, you get exclusive use of the house and property.

The house has 5 large bedrooms, 2 large bathrooms, a large kitchen and huge centre entertainment area. The centre area is 84sq meters in size.
There is also a separate ablution facility next to the house with a further 3 toilets and 3 showers. This facility is usually used by larger groups.

There is NO TV. This is done on purpose as we encourage visitors to enjoy the outdoors and not sit in front of the TV. You can do this at home. Please bring games to play at night. There is a Table Tennis table with bats and balls.

There are 20 beds split amongst the 5 bedrooms. The configuration of beds in the rooms can be changed to suit your needs.
Right side of house - Room 1 - 3 Double bunks. These cannot be moved.
Right side of house - Room 2 - 2 Single beds. This room is the smallest and can take at most 1 more bed.
Left side of house - Room 1 - 1 Double Bed and 2 Single beds.
Left side of house - Room 2 - 3 Single beds.
Left side of house - Room 3 - 1 Double bunk, 3 Single beds.
There are further 5 mattresses available which can be placed on the floor in the rooms if required.
The beds have mattresses covers.
NO BEDDING IS PROVIDED.

Kitchen
There is a large kitchen. The stove has 5 gas cooking plates and a large electric oven. There are 3 fridges, an ice maker, urn, kettle and toaster.
Cutlery for 20 people is provided as standard. If you require more, please let me know. We have cutlery for 70 people available.
Sufficient pots, pans etc are available to cater for groups of 20 people.
3 Potjie pots, 2 small and 1 large are available. (Please request these if you would like to use them)

Tables and Chairs
There are 30 plastic chairs, a 5 seater lounge suite, as well as 5 camping chairs available for use.
Tables are set up as required. These are trestle tables and set up as required. Tables can be set up for groups of up to 40 people. Please let us know your requirements.

Fishing, Swimming and Boating
The River in front of the container house is very shallow and quite deep in various areas. Some areas are knee deep and other area are 3m deep. For this reason, one cannot use Motor boats on this stretch of the River. It is reasonably safe to swim in the river as it is relatively shallow. If the River level is higher than normal and therefore flowing quite fast, it is advisable to remain out of the water. Fast flowing water is extremely dangerous. There are a number of canoes with Oars which can be used. Please supply your own life jackets. There are 8 big tubes which can be used on the River.

Fishing
The fishing in this area is very good. Many large Carp, Barbel and Yellow Fish are caught on a regular basis. We encourage catch and release.

Other options available
You can pitch your own tents. There is lots of flat ground. Two army tents are available for hire. These are 5m X 5m tents.

There is a labourer to wash dishes and clean up at an additional cost.

The care taker and his wife cook for big groups of people that stay there. If you want them to cook for you, it will be at an additional cost.

Charcoal is available on site. Please advise beforehand if you require these.
Limited wood is available for a camp fire. Please let me know before hand is this is required as the wood needs to be cut.
Braai facilities are available. There are 3 drum braais and a smaller flat braai.
