Crab Shack

This KwaZulu Natal South Coast self-catering, beachfront cottage is an oasis for the city weary. Our front garden gate opens onto a narrow strip of indigenous vegetation (admiralty) which is all that separates you from a beautiful unspoiled   golden beach with an enormous tidal pool.  Just 500 metres to your right is Southport’s famous Blue Flag  beach complete with life guards another lovely tidal pool and under the magnificent Milkwood trees is a laid back beach restaurant and bar.

Besides being very popular for fishing, Southport is also conveniently situated in close proximity to many delightful restaurants, golf courses and shopping facilities.

Newly renovated Crab Shack can accommodate 10 people.   It offers 3 bedrooms plus a flatlet.  Two of the bedrooms have queen beds, the 3rd  bedroom has 2 adult sized double bunk beds and the flatlet also has a queen bed.

The main bedroom and flatlet are both en-suite.  There is also a family bathroom which is shared by the other 2 bedrooms. There are no baths.

The cottage includes an open-plan lounge and dining room with 55” flat screen TV, surround sound bar & full package DSTV. The fully fitted kitchen offers a dishwasher and two fridges with freezers.  On the undercover verandah there are outdoor dining and lounge areas and a built in braai.  The large open extended deck incorporates a sparkling natural salt water chlorinated pool which boasts a “champagne seat” on which to relax.  Open plan living at its best!

The property is newly renovated and the furnishings and décor are tasteful.  Bedding, bath towels and beach towels are supplied.

The cottage is fully fenced and is pet friendly.  Ample secure parking is available to our guests.  The property has a top of the range security system with surveillance cameras and outside security beams.

Please note that this is a non smoking establishment. Smoking is only permitted on the verandah.  Also, being situated in a residential area, no loud music and no noise is permitted after 10 pm.

For the adventurous, the ever-popular Oribi Gorge beckons some 25 kilometres away, or for the gamblers at heart, the Wild Coast Sun is only 50 km down the nearby highway.

We are situated 7 kilometres from the Port Shepstone Country Club and Golf Course (voted the best golf course on the Coast for 4 consecutive years).  Avid golfers also have access to a number of the South Coast's other renowned golf courses, all within easy driving distance: Southbroom, San Lameer, Port Edward, Margate Country Club or the Wild Coast Sun.

There is a daily domestic cleaning service Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) at no charge.
