Saamrus Guest Farm

Self-catering, Pet-friendly Accommodation in Magaliesburg, Gauteng.

Each unit at Saamrus has a special character, with every convenience to make your stay more comfortable and memorable.

Most of the units are at least 50m apart, except Tarentaal and Kiewiet which are about 15m apart. We have used reeds and hedges for screening to give you maximum privacy and seclusion.

Units include the following:

• Each unit has a fenced garden for the dogs.
• Private braai at each unit with extra fire pit at most of the units.
• Fireplaces in all units. Most units have ceiling fans and some have loose-standing fans. Some units have wall-heaters for extra heating in winter.
• Kitchens are fully equipped including: fridge, microwave, two-plate gas stove, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, crockery and cutlery, dishwashing liquid and dishcloths. Braai utensils are also supplied.
• Bathrooms: all have showers and some have romantic baths for two. Towels, soap, air freshener and toilet paper are supplied.
• Bedrooms: Supplied with bed linen, pillows and blankets. Electric blankets in some units.

Cottages are not normally serviced during your stay. Servicing can be requested at an extra charge (see rates page)

Firewood for sale. Invasive blue gums cut on the farm. Staff on duty will deliver to your unit.

Please bring: Charcoal; Firelighters; Walking shoes; Binoculars; Camera; Mosquito Repellent; Dog beds, blankets and bowls.

The 3 units at the foot of the hill
Cottages are Close to the bird-haven indigenous bush and river walks. These cottages can be reached by car.

Tarentaal Rondawel
Thatched rondawel surrounded by indigenous trees with prolific bird life. Sleeps 2 people max. Ideal for a couple or two friends sharing. Open plan bedroom/living room with king size bed or two single beds.

Kiewiet Rondawel
Thatched rondawel surrounded by indigenous trees with prolific bird life. Sleeps 2 people max. Ideal for a couple or two friends sharing. Open plan bedroom/living room with king size bed or two single beds.

Hoephoep Cottage
Charming, private cottage with dense indigenous trees behind it, and a view of a meadow in front. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. Suitable for a couple or group of up to four. One bedroom with king size bed or 2 single beds. Two single bed/couches in the open plan living room.

The 6 units on the hill
These units are only accessible by 4 x 4, diff-lock bakkie or on foot. In wet weather serious 4 x 4 or on foot only. If you have a car only and wish to stay in one of these units , you can park your car in a safe parking area at the foot of the hill and walk the 200m to 400m uphill. We will have at least 2 strong men on duty to help you carry the luggage for a tip of R20 each on arrival and departure.

Piet my vrou Cottage
Very private and secluded cottage is situated half way up the hill away from other cottages in the bush. Sleeps 2 people max. Ideal for a couple or two friends sharing. Open plan bedroom/living room with king size bed or two single beds. Spacious and private.

Kiepersol Cottage
Very charming and spacious cottage built entirely with rocks and with a thatched roof. Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children Suitable for a couple or family up to four. Open plan with double bed and two single bed/couches.

Suikerbos Cottage
Popular for its large wooden deck with stunning views of the mountains and valleys. Sleeps 6 people (max 4 adults) Min. booking for 4 sharing. Ideal for two couples sharing or a group of up to six. Two bedrooms with double beds and two single beds in the living room.

Akasia Cottage
Very comfortable one-bedroom cottage on the hill surrounded by natural rock and indigenous veld. Stunning views! Sleeps 2 adults and 2 children. Suitable for a couple or group of up to four. One bedroom with king size bed or 2 single beds. Two single bed/couches in the open plan living room.

Karee Cottage
Cosy open-plan cottage high up on the hill with breathtaking views in all directions. Sleeps 2 people max. Both ideal for a couple or two friends sharing. Open plan bedroom/living room with king size bed or two single beds.
