Sunshine Beachfront Cottage

Sunshine Beachfront Cottage is an exclusive holiday destination located 25 minutes north of Fish River Sun Hotel. The resort is a unique spot for many reasons. One of the most amazing features of the area, the existence of spectacular sand dunes that spread either side of this piece of paradise for miles. The actual location of the property is exactly 5 metres from the front verandah to the beach. Because of the unique position, the views of the Indian Ocean are uninterrupted for 180 degrees. Visitors can watch dolphins and whales swim past on a very regular basis.

The property is accessed by a private road. The property boasts an undercover braai area with seating for casual functions. There is an open plan kitchen which is fully equipped with fridge, freezer, microwave, crockery, cutlery and all that is required for those looking for an ideal self catering getaway. The dining area is located to the side of the kitchen and is situated next to a built-in "log fire" place. Next to the dining area, and across from the kitchen is the lounge which boasts huge bay windows. The views from here are breathtaking. To the side of the games table is a sliding door which leads out onto a verandah equipped with deck chairs and table making it a wonderful place to sit and read whilst listening to the Indian Ocean pounding the shoreline. Fishing is popular amongst those with homes in the area.

Moving onto the accommodation, the house comes with three bedrooms. The main room is situated on the front (sea side) of the house and is fitted with an en-suite shower hand basin and toilet. The room is fitted with a King size bed and has a free standing drawer unit and wardrobe. Moving down the passage there is a bathroom which is fitted with another shower. Further down the passage is the first guest room. This is fitted with double bed and a bunk bed and is usually used by children. Further on down is another guest room which is also fitted with a King size bed and a single bed. The house can accommodate up to 9 persons comfortably. The bedroom section and passage way is carpeted and the lounge-, dining- and kitchen areas as well as braai and verandah are tiled.

Behind and to the left of the property is "protected land". This area comprises of 30 square kilometres and is home to buck, bush pig, tortoise, guinea fowl, pheasant, monkeys and rabbit.

The closest convenience store is located 10 minutes from the house in Wesley. There you will find a craft shop and cafe selling all kinds of treats as well as a general trading store. For more extensive supplies Port Alfred is a mere 25 minutes down the coast using the N2 Motorway. The closest commercial airport is East London which is situated south of the city although smaller charter aircraft may land in Port Alfred. Here you are able to hire a car, if need be, and travel southwards to Sunshine Beachfront Cottage which takes between 45 to 50 minutes. The road has just been redone and forms part of the N2 north and south.

The fishing is good and rolling oysters are a common sight on the beach. For boating enthusiasts there is a river nearby that flows in to the sea which is 200 metres form the house. Waterskiing and the sorts are common here and there is a communal slip way that is used for launching boats. Boat owners may also launch out to sea providing they acquire the appropriate permits from the local authorities.
