Redlands Hotel and Lodge

Redlands Hotel is situated in the heart of the secure Redlands Estate in the northern suburb of Wembley (Pietermaritzburg). Whilst situated in beautiful, peaceful, parklike surroundings, the hotel is only minutes away from the CBD and numerous schools which are located close by. Redlands is the ideal stop over for the executive traveler or for parents visiting their children at boarding school. The location also lends its self to small intimate functions and weddings (60 guests).Redlands comprises of 22 deluxe rooms, two library suites, 4 premier suites and 6 apartments (5 of which have two bedrooms).

All rooms have access to 11 TV channels. Internet access is provided at no additional cost. All units have baths and showers. Apart from two Parkview Lodges, all rooms have airconditioners. Complimentary tea and coffee making facilities are provided and housekeeping is done daily. A laundry service is available.

Dining at Redlands is an experience in its self. Whether dining in the "Blue Room" restaurant, enjoying a quick snack in the clubroom or banqueting in the Redlands Room, there is something to meet everyone's tastes and needs.

Nobuhle Mkhize (Executive chef) , trained at Fordoun, then spent some time at Singita befor moving onto being head chef at Itaga Private Game Reserve in Limpopo. Fortunately for us, "Home is where the heart is," and Nobuhle is now taking our kitchen to new levels. The Redlands Club Room and Blue Room are open to the public for breakfasts, lunches and dinners daily.

The hotel has its own floodlit tennis court and swimming pool whilst a selection of golf courses are but a short drive away. For those looking for a gym, a Virgin Active is also situated 5 minutes from us. The Redlands Beauty Salon is situated 50m from our front door and they provide a wide range of treatments and massages etc. so you can be pampered during your stay.

Whilst we do not do transfers, our front office staff are only to happy to assist with organizing transfers, daytrips or taxis.
