Mountain View Ranch

This beautiful ranch is set on 24ha of property, with the picturesque Little Mooi River meandering through the fields.

With horses, blesbok and Nguni cows grazing in the paddocks, it is a nature lovers dream. The majestic Mount Lebanon stands guard over the ranch, and on a clear day, the Giant and Cleopatra are both clearly visible. Many hours of fun can be had swimming, fishing and picnicking down at the river. For those who want to relax, sitting on the veranda watching the prolific bird life and sipping a cocktail can be the answer to the end of a busy week in the office. Regular visitors to the farm are vulture, fish eagles, martial eagles, crowned eagles, kites, kestrels and many smaller bird species. A camera, binoculars and a bird book are a must!!

This comfortable and relaxed family ranch boasts 5 double bedrooms (2 en-suite) and a bunk room sleeping 4. All the bedrooms have magnificent views of the mountains. The farm house has 3 bathrooms and 1 guest toilet.

For the smaller family, the farm also has a beautiful self contained cottage that sleeps 4.

Leading off the spacious kitchen/dining room is the piazza area with an additional dining table, a fireplace and a large pizza oven. This is the centre of the ranch, used for cooking, to escape the dramatic mountain storms, drinking wine or simply sitting chatting to friends and family.

The large comfortable lounge leads off the piazza area and is perfect for those lazy days when a cup of coffee and a good book are the order of the day. Many games of monopoly, cards and other games have been played in front of the roaring fire.

The area around the farm has beautiful nature trails that start as you open the paddock gate. Mountain biking, great single track, walking, running, swimming or just exploring the river couldn't get better in the fresh mountain air. Test yourself by riding or walking up to Highmore Nature Reserve, a World Heritage Site and the source of the Little Mooi.

Anyone staying at Mountain View Ranch will be given a honorary membership during their stay to fish at any of the Wild Fly fishing dams, of which there are more than 10 within 10 km's. Please enquire when making your reservation.
